Here is a posting that provides a direct comparison between a glow and non-glow version of a tenpin bowling pin. In this case, it is the AMF Amflite II double ring neckband pin. It is of modern design with a composite wooden core and white Surlyn plastic coating and clear topcoating. The only difference between these two is the fact that the glow pin had the printing executed in fluorescing pink ink. The non-glow is printed in basic red. All markings front and back are otherwise identical in form. The WIBC/ABC sanctioning indicates that these are pre-2005 vintage. Control weight and standard dimensions.
In all my posts, I give very little precise information about the actual dimensions of the pin. This is because the specifications are extremely detailed and precise. To illustrate this, I've provided page 20 from the 2012 USBC Equipment Specifications Manual. This page has the diagram for the 14 measurement points or "stations" to verify conformity to specifications against. There are similar sections on weight, composition, coatings, etc.
