Not sure how old these celluloid bangles are. They are tiny - 2-1/4" and 2-3/8" opening. I am lucky they fit because I didn't ask. Good lesson - ask! The red w/rhinestones is not bakelite. A fun armload of bracelets that look good w/my other cream & rhinestone bangles from earlier post.

Here's a trick to get tight bangles on and off - put your hand in a plastic grocery bag and slip them on and off. Yes slippery soap works too. Work it gently....you will feel bad if you break an oldie. Gluing them back together doesn't work very often.

I am not sure where these are from so if anyone knows please chime in.

These look like they sound great...if that makes sense
    2. freiheit freiheit, 6 years ago
Makes perfect sense to me! Many years ago I taught young children. Sometimes we played games and I always lost! When I finally asked them how they were able to tell all the time that I was the one moving, they replied: That's easy - you jingle! Needless to say that I always wore silver or plastic bangles; lots of them!

Thanks Amber - they have a soft clunk w/twinkle - a CLINKLE! Just enuf to be annoying to certain people....hee hee!

Gudrun your kids were very smart - Of course! Thanks for your comment. I love these colors but probably won't risk wearing the red one. Glad I didn't buy more of that design.

Very lovely Val! Hope you're well over there. I don't have time for CW right now, loads of work and activities, but I'm only an email away for you. Will email you soon. Sorry that I haven't kept up with your posts, they are all lovely!

They are so pretty! I had something similar to that years ago, but they broke when I dropped them and now they are gone, gone, gone! I don't know anything about their age, but I do know they are somewhat fragile... so don't do what I did! :)

These are really cute designs. (I had a feeling they were yours when I saw them) :) I have seen some years ago that were like the thicker one with rhinestones but just can't recall where or when. If my memory decides to come around and let me know, I will comment for you :) Great share!

Thanks earl for your nice message! So true - these aren't AS brittle as some of my other celluloid. I've broken some good ones over the years! The thin red 1/8" ones have a little give, but still all have to go on and off slowly. I like the size tho. I love that red rhinestone one. Oh well - it's just for looking at I guess.

Hi Share! You know my style! That's pretty fun - I love big fat clunky bracelets too - just can't afford them. Oh well, some day. Just bought a 2" wide fakelite - we'll see if it passes my test. Didn't pay too much and can always give it to my little sister who LOVES red. She is not a plastic snob like me. Thanks again - have a good day!

Thank you DarlingMara and Nadia for your nice comments. I just bought another one to post. It's about 1/4" wide cream w/slightly larger rhinestones. Pretty cool. I might have enough of those to call it a proper obsession.

      I want these too!!
So many and all so pretty!
These you just can’t find, not in such wonderful comdition!
You’re right, you do “have a store”! Ha!
Seriously though Mary, these rhinestone/celluloid bracelets are wonderful!

Eileen, I might give the tinier ones in picture 1 to my young nieces. I'm not sure which of them like vintage jewelry....something to take into account.

I like the creamy w/clear rhinestones that seem to shout "wear me with a 50's jeweled sweater".

Phil, thank you for your love.

      Yes, yes they do!
I used to wear those sweaters and see- thru sheer blouses in my hippie days!
    22. valentino97 valentino97, 3 months ago
I had some great sweaters Eileen!! Mostly moth eaten now or so tiny I sold them. Do you have any pictures? I saw Tower of Power at the Greek Theatre for some festival back in the good old days (right, 2-3 yrs?) . But a big pashmina wrap is about as hippie as I get these days. :-)
