Hello doll collectors,
I have a lovely collection of 50s dolls I would like to share with you.
Here are photos of two of my dolls. They are Miss Margie by Belle Toy Corp, created around 1956 to 1959 approximatly. These dolls resemble the more coveted Cissy by Madame Alexander. Indeed, they look a lot like Cissy.
The two I'm introducing are from my own private collection. Both dolls have the same body type, are unmarked and 18'' tall. Their clothing are original and are both factory made. The nurse is quite rare - never seen another one like her before I purchased her. Her dress is quite unusual - it is very crisp and does not feel like fabric at all. It feels like a very thin plastic! Her wrap is made of cotton or a cotton blend material. Her little cap is also plastic.
The second little lady is wearing a dress of taffeta and her hairdo is quite different from the usual Margies seen on E-Bay. Also, her hair is not the typical saran hair for these dolls. Hers is very soft and thinner than saran: it may be dinel, but not sure. The style is reminicent of the Dollikins. Her face is quite lovely, dainty and demure!
Hope you collectors out there enjoy this little piece of information.
