This is a photo of my paternal grandmother (Me Ma) at the age of 19. She was born in 1895. She was quite a "sharp dresser" back "in the day". Wouldn't you say? And not bad looking either...

Thank you. I don't use it describing her all the time. Not sure why. I guess it just doesn't sound that masculine coming out of a guys mouth. But I'm going on record saying it now. My Me Ma was about as fine a lady as one could ever know. I never once heard a derogatory utterance come out of her mouth. And I never knew anyone who knew her that didn't just like her, but love her. She was that nice. I guess you could say, she was a lady in the truest sense of the word. I have pictures of her all over my house much the same as I have other families pictures. But whenever I actually stop and take a long look of any photo of her, I always think the same thoughts. What a great Me Ma she was and boy oh boy did she ever love me. I feel very honored and blessed to have known her.

I'm assuming a "muff" is what she has both hands in?? I know this probably makes me look like idiot but the name is just "vaguely" familiar and actually I remember my sister using one of those things one would put each hand into to help keep them warm on a cold day and as my memory somewhat returns, I think it was called a muff. I'm thinking that a "muff" is a "girl thing"?? I know I've never used one. But anyway thanks for looking and also thank you also for your comment.
Yes, the muff is what she has her hands inside! I remember as a child having a white rabbit fur muff back in the mid '70s that came only came out on special occasions, like Christmas. It's a girl thing, I think it would be funny to see a boy wearing a muff!!
I suppose, though, that the better word to refer to it in this day and age is a handwarmer!

I found a pic of my sister age 5 wearing a pink muff to match her Easter dress. (she was born in 1957) Also thanks for the link. I don't hunt but many of my "redneck" friends do. Somehow it's hard to picture one of them sitting in a "tree stand" waiting for that elusive buck wearing one of those pictured in the link. I'm sure if they had one, they'd keep in "under their hat". Literally. And never let their "buds" know. Thanks again.
