Enjoyed Jewels post of sea glass. I have bowls & tins around my apt. filled w/found objects (glass, metal, bones, shells, fossils, etc. stuff).
My friend Claudia saw this mint green glass bottle neck in one of the bowls and decided to use it for her GIA project "wax carving, ring design". I think the best part of this gift was picking it up at the jewelry shop in Los Angeles downtown jewelry district. The shop was in an old bldg., 2nd floor, not glitzy. When we arrived the craftsmen all came out to meet me and comment on how difficult it was to "cage" the glass in sterling. They weren't used to working in anything but silver and gold. But they said they enjoyed the challenge (mainly not to break the glass).
I love this ring! When I go to art openings it is the perfect one of a kind jewel. Claudia returned to Europe and still makes beautiful jewelry.
