Hi all, this one is very sad--a real tortoise shell brooch. I did not know what I was buying as it was at a thrift shop--I saw the sterling mark and bought it. I have since learned of it's origin and the cruel process. But, it is antique and I would never support current tortoise, elephant, butterfly, etc. trade. Any thoughts and comments are appreciated. It is marked sterling and "Bonaire." Thanks for looking!
All I know is that it used to be very common to have tortoise shell. I like this because it's so old!
