This is one of our latest purchases for the new studio: a table lamp designed by Miquel Milà around 1970 (I've seen one online which seems to have a sticker on the base with the 1971 date on it).
We saw it at El Rastro, the Madrid fleamarket, and I really couldn't help going straight to it as soon as I saw it in the distance. The price was high and we let it go at the moment... but then we went for it again. Couldn't let it go at all!!!!
It has all the original fittings, even the cord and plug with the "tramo" brand on it. It also has the tramo label at the base, just by the point where the cord gets into the body.
Tramo was the brand Milà created in the 1960s to produce his own designs. The name comes from the first syllables from Trabajos Molestos (Odd Jobs or even Annoying Jobs).
Miquel Milà is, alongside with André Ricard, the pioneer of modern design in Spain. On pic.2 you can see some of his designs... just a few among the hundreds he made!
