We need to see more of the case. Well lit photos would also be a big help.

If anyone can help that would be great. i have the clock running... LOVE the tic-tock sound when i sleep. anyway what are the holes by 4 and 8 for? I got the 12 hole figured out easy enough and after a little tweaking holds perfect time.

Looks like one to wind the movement, one to wind the hour striker.

You have a "Tambour" style Mantel Clock. From what I can see it looks like a Sessions model they called the "Surprise" from circa 1925. If so it should measure 19" long by 9 1/2" tall. Mahogany Finish with a 5" dial. It was offered with either a white or silvered dial. Your clock originally listed for $13.75 in 1925. As pops52 said you have an Eight-Day Hour and Half-Hour Strike on a Cathedral Gong movement. Winding the mainspring on the right (by the "4") powers the time train. Winding the other mainspring powers the hourly/half-hourly strike train. Hope that solves your mystery.
