Yes finally an original Aurora model from 1963. One of my favorite models. This one I bought built up and painted. It was only partially painted so not many details were lost in the repainting. It was molded in an attractive green color so kids could just paint the teeth and claws and of course add some blood.
One of the things I like best is that the creature aka the gill man came with cool pets. He had the large iguana (original one on the creature's right on the rock) and the snake on the tree. I added a couple more iguanas. The skeletal hand is from another creature as seen in the movie in 3D.
This model is still being made by Revell.

Cool! I remember the bony hand from the 1954 movie. Fantastic paint job and I love the detail.

I'm so glad CW brings up the archives, if not I would of missed this great post.
My cousin made this model when I was a very young girl. It was sitting on the kitchen table and my other cousin & I were coming up the street and saw this " thing" through the kitchen window. She & I ran back down the street screaming like silly little girls do. We swore it moved. Ha! Thank you so much for posting this, and bringing back a fun memory of my youth!
