hi friends, this is my new arrival-) a huge enameled vase with thisle pattern, unsigned but sure it could be attributed to montjoye. a wonderfull delicate design, in amethist glass, and soft green folliage.
the colours are better with sunlight under my velux-)

    enjoy-)

All David! Tres Beau Vase....surtout cette couleur extraordinaire. Robert

Wonderful piece! I would have guessed that the flower was some kind of 'Papaver somniferum' (a kind of poppy).

The flower is actually a Fuller's Teasel, Dipsacus fullonum (which is in the thistle family). It was widely grown in southern France, as well as England and Germany, and was traditionally used in the fulling of fabric. I have a Legras vase with teasels, and have seen others by them - it is quite a popular motif for Legras in their work. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Dipsacus_fullonum_%288402660039%29.jpg And what a lovely vase - so subdued and elegant!
