I found this nice little leather covered trunk at a local antique show. I cleaned and conditioned the tooled leather, which is 100% intact as are the handles. I thought it turned out to be quite a beautiful trunk and a great find. I did replace the leather straps, but the buckle assemblies are original. I cleaned the oak slats and polished the brass. This is one of my favorite trunks in my collection.
The interior is original, but a not in as good of condition as the exterior. The interior has a very decorative compartment inside the lid that drops down, which I think is very nice. The document holder, on that compartment, is missing (but, to be expected). The lock hasp is missing. The brass key hole cover is broken off, but in an envelope inside the trunk.
Thanks for looking!!
