We just bought this wonderful, old stove and are excited to restore it. The large corn motif on the lower door is a great emblem of the midwest where corn was king. The secondary decorations are acorns and oak leaves.

I agree Phil. This is a really beautiful piece. I can't even think of one of my customary snide remarks!

Hey Phil, I've got the flu & not my normal, abnormal self. I'm sure I'll be back to abnormal in a few days.

Careful what you wish for, Phil, but thanks. After 41 yrs. in the tropics & still love the sight of old wood & coal burning stoves (go figure?). Popped a LUV on many on CW, but this is the most beautiful one I've seen.

think I would tear it down and send most out to be Nickel platted ..buts that's me ...
    13. Leta, 9 years ago
Nickel plating is uber pricey. We want to have the top door, the bottom door and the finial plated but even that is out of our league at present. Thanks for all your info and flattery.
    14. Roycroftbooksfromme1, 9 years ago
ya............ I have a glen 118 in my camp and the nickel makes all the diff...on it ..with that said yours will clean up nicely and each summer you can take off a door or part and have it platted.....just the fact your saving it,... is coollllllllllllll

We are going to paint it dark brown and plate the bits ourselves with copper. My guy's a nerd.
