This pin is 2" x 3", which doesn't seem large until you see it in person. The enamel is beautifully done, and the colors are awesome. From what I can tell of the marks (Crown, Gothic W and Lion? not sure about the lion, but some kind of animal) it was made by the Watson company of Connecticut. I can't seem to find a way to date this piece, but it looks like early 1900s to me. The enamel is in perfect shape and the color is still brilliant. The 3rd pic is of this pin with another I found recently. The colors go so well together, that is how I display them.

Update: There has been some discussion on who made this , I believe this was made by the Watson company, please see the 4th pic I just posted. The top row is exactly what's on the piece. Reference http://www.9251000.com/americansilver_W2.html

This is an excellent source for Sterling marks from all over the world
Thanks everyone for looking at this. I'm still not positive when it was made.

Might be English Sheffield marks? An M or a W? 1904?

I thought the anchor was a Birmingham hallmark.
    3. vetraio50 vetraio50, 9 years ago
Is it an anchor or a crown?

The first mark is a Crown, can't make out the other marks, I think your right vetraio.

Thanks vetraio50 and Peasejean55. I just added a 4th pic with the attribution I found on 925-1000.com I'm still not positive what the date is. I appreciate all the help everyone here always gives when someone asks, and I try to do the same. Thanks again!!

Thanks vetraio50! I still can't find anything on what period the marks were used though.
