Vintage Ken Edwards El Palomar Tonala Pottery Shoulder Vase
Ken Edwards had a fairly large staff of artists and they each used an animal or insect as their signatures; often times you see a bird, other times a scorpion, or butterfly, etc. With a familiar KE mark or El Palomar signature this pottery is one of a kind.

Ken Edwards..I visited his studios in Mexico right outside of Guadalajara in Tlaquepaque.......Probably 25 years ago or so......Stuff from his studios back then wasnt cheap at all. Very expensive, even for Mexico. I have found many of his things
over the years....My fav for Mex Artists......

One more thing. KE collectors really want to see the KE somewhere on the vase. Otherwise they will pass it right on by........

Truth, you are quite correct. I have some figurines I can almost swear are early Tonala, possible El Palomar, but not marked by them, just say Mexico so probably little value.

I have a piece of this also. It has El Palamar Mexico on it. It a chicken or a bird, not sure which one. I've searched the internet and can't find another one like it. Its blue and white with flower and butterfly on it. Anybody seen one like it
