Here is a lovely Susie Cooper, Art Deco demitasse coffee set in near mint condition, which is part of my collection. It includes the coffee pot, 4 cups and saucers, and the creamer and sugar. This Kestrel "Tango" design set has black and soothing aqua blue bands on a creamy white base. I love the streamlined finial of the coffee pot. Circa 1930's. The Kestrel line was first produced in 1932, and it is apparently the most sought after shape of collectors.
During the Great Depression, the British were producing some amazing ceramics. Susie Cooper was a contemporary of Clarice Cliff and Charlotte Rhead. It seems like the demitasse service has gone the ways of many other things in the past. A shot of Starbucks espresso would be much better served in these cups!
