This box has a very popular Art Deco motif three Horsehead. It is produced in the 1940s by a local craftsman. This motif is widespread in German and Czechoslovak ashtrays from the 1930s and 1940s and I guess that is inspired by something like.This type of boxes used by the Bulgarian soldiers to store their personal belongings and were mandatory for every soldier ,including me I had similar during my military service.

Interesting that these were mandatory. Were they issued to you, or did you have to buy your own, Vlad?
Everyone had to buy his own. I still have his box!
