this ashtray was designed by ALFONS MUCHA in early 1900 and productuced by GEORGES DREYFUS. this was made for the shoemaker "ibled" originally a chocolate factory under the name "chocoreve" and "ibled". the chocolate factory was founded in 1824 by Christophe Ibled, in Mondicourt, France. He get study pharmacology, and chocolate was used in this years as medication. the factory and production grew up and he created a newfactory. he also create lot of collactables, very appreciated by young clients....

IBLED chocolate was awarded in the world exhibitions 1855 and 1867.
Christophe Ibled dies in 1878, his son Henry was the next director.
He did good marketting and advertise well for there products, create collectacbles pictures, modernised the factory and enlarge it to 20000m2.

in the early 20th century, his son directed the business and decid to created a shoe factory to get new clients... to enlarge the businnes opportunities.

well i'm sorry i do think, this part sounds like " spanish cow" -)

    reacer i was also surprised with the story of that business.... i do think it was the early very busnissfull compagny, like nestle or procter 1ganble today..... who did all businnesses as possible..... he maybe understand the needs of people... di i need chocolate of shoes? probably much more shoes.... -)

    thanks kivatinitz, i saw that website to identify the piece. thanx. yes wonderful story. these adversting gifts will be part of my future museum i'm actually building. i've opened the museum collection page here in CW.... to add the whole inventory.
