For change at a grocery store a couple of weeks ago, I received a 1970 Washington quarter from the Denver mint. I found out that in 1970, the government made a mistake by accidentally making the quarter out of the metal intended for a dime (also known as a dime stock quarter). Would someone who knows a lot about currency be able to tell me if what I have is a dime stock quarter? Thank-You so much for taking the time to reply!

(By the way, on the picture with the two quarters side by side, the quarter on the left is the quarter from 1970.)

The 1970 dime and quarter used the same nickel-clad copper alloy blanks material. (outer layers of copper-nickel [.750 copper, .250 nickel] bonded to an inner core of pure copper. Looking at the side view it can clearly be seen. This has been the standard alloy for both dimes and quarters since 1965.
