Yesterday I was able to add another example of a vase in the 'molded veining' pattern to my collection. I really like this patterning on the glass, since it helps the iridescence catch the texture in the sunlight. I already had two small round vases in the Pepita decor, and a taller example in green. This new little vase is only 5-1/4" tall, and shaped to hold a small bulb. While hyacinth glasses are the best known examples of vases for bulb forcing, crocus vases were also made. I will have to give this a try with a crocus bulb - I bet it will look so cheery in the spring green vase.

UPDATE (May 2015): While I previously thought that these vases were all made by Rindskopf, I now consider that they may have actually been made by Kralik. I have close to forty Rindskopf vases in my collection now, and by shape they are quite distinctive. Except for the shape of my green wasp-waisted vase, the others in the 'molded veining' pattern just don't have enough Rindskopf characteristics to my mind. They are more generic in shape, and there are some unexplained examples of really wild colored spatter vases with this molding pattern as well. Finally, I have only seen the molded veining pattern on three colors of vases that I feel could be Rindskopf - a 'Pepita' like color, a green, and a dark iridescent. I have been looking for this pattern in another known distinctive Rindskopf decor, but have not come across one as yet.

Thanks Peggy, Penny & Lee! I will definitely show it again with a crocus blooming! I did hyacinths this year, so it will be a fun change for next fall. :)

I have a small vase in this surface pattern that is in a dark blue ground, and has a multi-colored spatter decor.... I will send you a pic.

So these are the four vases that you feel are no longer Rindskopf, Michelle?
    13. Michelleb007 Michelleb007, 9 years ago
Hi vetraio, yes, these are the ones I am not sure of anymore. I am not convinced they aren't Rindskopf, but I have some doubts now. I am going to add my thoughts to this post as an update so as to not confuse people. Thanks! :)

All four look like they are from the same firm. Alan's vase has the same form as your large green one.
    15. vetraio50 vetraio50, 9 years ago
Is your late green one the same size as Alan's ?
    16. vetraio50 vetraio50, 9 years ago
Large green one ... Sorry ....
    17. Michelleb007 Michelleb007, 9 years ago
Hi vetraio, yes, I do believe all of these four vases are by the same maker. I also believe that whoever made these vases also made Alan's Pepita-like vase. I think my green vase with the wasp-waist is the same size and shape as Alan's, too. They could be by Rindskopf, but there are just some things about them that have made me wonder if they were perhaps made by another maker.

I agree they are all likely the same house. I personally do not believe that they are Rindskopf production. Without the Pepita décor as a marker to link to the decor and some shapes, , there is nothing I am aware of in the way of empirical evidence or otherwise supporting Rindskopf as the house that made these.

Thanks, Craig - those are some good reasons that I now have my doubts, too.

      I was just wondering ....
You have two versions of the same moulded vase.
Do the patterns of the webbing match exactly ....
      Or are they different, ....
      from a different mould....
      Or are they 'identical'?

      Beautiful !! :-)

vetraio, let me compare the two and I'll get right back to you.

      Hi Michelle
20.kevin have a very good point here...
If they identical, was a good start, hey we go again.....
I agree you have such a great grouping here.
      Lovely
I look forward for another mystery vase.

I red-read and noticed that they were bought at separate times, too!
    26. Michelleb007 Michelleb007, 9 years ago
Alan and vetraio, I took a look at my vases today, and yes, the molded veining pattern appears to be identical on the two vases. I did buy the two 'Pepita' vases separately; one is much more red than the other, with only a very little green spotting on the base, while the other is much more of a half and half coloration. There is a very interesting pattern to the 'molded veining' - in some places many veins meet at a node, looking almost like a map of a city (I hope that make sense!) - all four of my vases have the same pattern. Thanks for asking, and for your interest!
