I purchased this clock as new in the 70's,it has the most wonderful deep sounding chimes on the hour and 1/2 hour.I don't know if "deep sounding " is the correct term to describe the sound of the chimes but this is all that comes to mind.I have taken one photo without a flash because of the glare on the glass.
I think she is very pretty with her brass trim and pendulum but don't look too close because the brass really needs a good polishing.Other than that she is in prime condition and works like a charm.
She is a pretty clock!

The clock is beautiful, and really in wonderful condition. I love some details of the face, such as the number 7 which appears as a combination of ´quotation´ and a ´tilde´ on top of it. This kind of details is fantastic!! It must be wonderful just to sit in front of it watching and lesson the chime!!

Thanks for your comment and for loving my clock.That is so funny about the number 7,I don't know why I never noticed it after all this time.As I look at it now it looks like an upside down 2.Yes,I love the chimes,I find the sound very comforting where as some would call it annoying.Have a nice evening.

Hi Dottie, it is funny how many things you can ¨see¨ in a clock dial face, it is like a figure from a Rorschach test!! Any way, there are two things that I like to pay attention when I watch a clock, first, the details of the clock dial face and, second, the design of the hands. Sometimes both of them are beautiful. Dottie, I did some searching on nubmer fonts and found that the numbering style is called 'French Script'. Just so you know.
Thank you Pop-abides,this is great information on the fonts that only a guy would notice( I myself never gave it much thought) but I'am sure it will be interesting to one of my sons when I hand it down someday
