These are additional photos as requested of my antique marionette. It does appear to be very old because the old wooden carved connection pieces of the leg and knee appear to have been broken at some point and this section now connected by old cloth strips. There is a wood-formed hip area and shoulder section. The very old cloth shown is from the vest. I am not certain what the head is made from. I am hoping that someone can help.

I'm curious. Why do you call it a marionette rather than a jointed wooden doll? Are there connections for strings? There was a display of wooden dolls like this the San Antonio Art Museum. I took pictures of the figures. Unfortunately I didn't take notes on dates/etc.
junkcollector, I don't really know the difference between marionettes and puppets. The person that I bought this from said it was a marionette. In my previous post I did show the holes in the hands for what, I assumed, would be strings. There is also a hook on top of his hat. I just bought this because I liked it. Thank you for asking!
Imho I think it’s a very cool and very old marionette only bc of the apparently original-to-the -piece holes in the hands and attachment on hat. But that’s my idea. Also, another thought is that there may (or may not) have/had holes in other joints like elbows or knees in places where we can’t tell as is. It’s a great piece, vintage, no matter which it is!
