    This is another unidentified item. I think it is some sort of Knife. Unknown for sure. It is Copper, Engraved on it is 1914 WELK-KRIRG or KIRG. ???? any help with what this item is really called and where it is From would be greatly appreciated.

      Research this as all one word "Weltkrieg" = World War. In this case WWI 1914 - 1918.

      I found a number of similar ones when I searched for Weltkrieg trench art letter opener.

      Agree it is a trench art letter opener.

      It is from the copper driving band off of an artillery shell.

      I have several examples posted on CW, if you'd like to see variations.
