It's getting harder and harder to get good antique coral jewelry these days.
Most gem quality coral is CITES protected, and there's increasing demand from China, where coral is one of the "eight treasures" and also sought-after because the color red is auspicious.
This is a great Art Deco necklace made from angular shaped and graduated coral lozenges separated by coral beads, with a cracking 18k gold and diamond clasp.
For scale the center drop is just under one inch (25mm) long.
I've only seen one other necklace like this before. The other one had an Austro-Hungarian silver clasp, so the origin of this may be European, I would say 1920's.
