When I opened the trinket dish, I found one of my favorite bracelets in there.

It needs another repair as it has again broken in the middle of one of the links, this time right near the safety clasp. My jewelry to me is like cowboy boots to a cowboy. Not really the best thing to do, but that's how I do it.

As I was looking at this, I really don't know how old it is. Maybe Art Nouveau. There are no markings on it anywhere that I can see and I have scanned the whole thing, more than once because we all know they can hide that pretty good sometimes!

I'm contemplating doing the repair myself. We'll see after I practice on a couple things first. It totally depends on how steady my hand is ;) I'll repost when cleaned and finished.

    Thanks for taking a peek!

haha! You are too much! I just don't know how you seem to find everything and so quickly. What it looks like to me tho is that they copied an original one like mine. I've had this one for a long time. Theirs doesn't have the etching mine does either.

A while back I met a lady that had one just like it but hers was gold. Ironic thing was that both her and I purchased them at pawn shops. Haven't seen one like it since. Thank you tho.

The engraving being a matter of taste, one can pay more and have the plain piece embellished. The originals were English mourning jewelry as worn by Queen Victoria as seen by the King and Queen of Hawaii. It has evolved into it's own style since then.

Here is an example showing the engraving still done today:

      Purely for stylistical assessment.
