    Was told that this was an antique astray...ceramic, painted other than that I don't know much about it

      It looks like an old bed warmer or child's chamber pot.

      I have one of the same design and was told it was called a silent butler. Someone would hold it out for people to drop there ashes into. Don't know for sure.
