It bring tears to my eyes --- They also look sad.

Like they are orphans......or maybe being Put up for adoption during the dirty 30's as the Parents can not afford to raise/feed/keep their children anymore. Maybe this is the last picture the parent took of their kids before they left home. The children faces look lost, bewildered....

      Such an EMOTIONAL picture !!!

Oh my!! I dont know about the time when was taken but I LOVE THIS PHOTO! Is the most beautiful and sweet, children, dogs and toys.
Yes, they look tired and dirty but maybe as Cind said comming from a long funny day under the sun.
The boy look proud of his adorable dog, his real friend and the dog show a very special attitude as telling "Yes, they are my treasures and Im here taking care of them with love".
I feel a very sweet emotion contemplating this photo, sweet tears! :)

It looks like it was taken during the Great Depression. I see a lot of similarities:

Wow, freiheit, I can see what you mean I went to that website they do resemble a lot expressions, wow, not excited to have their picture taken. When I first looked at the picture I thought to myself as a child that age what would have me looking sad when someone was taking my photo?? maybe a stranger taking my picture that I really didn't know. Makes you Wonder!!!!!

I think Depression era too - doubt the adoption story as they would get rid of that big dog before they got rid of their kids. - Maybe if Manikin looks she could circa date that doll?

That's funny, it does appear the dog is OK with who ever is taking the picture! Yes I need Manikin to look at that Doll.
