Picked up this unusual very heavy cast floor lamp and desperate for additional information. Motif is of Spanish sailing ships on all four sides with a removable cast iron hound mounted on top.
Got it at an estate sale in the Vinegar hill section of downtown Brooklyn NY. Owner is in middle 90s and in nursing home and her nephews were selling all belongings. Sad.
Always interested in the Spanish Explorers and was especially interested in this lamp with the hound addition as the conquisdors traveled with hounds on there forays into the new world.
Thanks for the comment. Love this too and really looks great lit in a darkened room. So you think it's from the 1940s? What other examples have you seen do you possibly have any links to other images. I've been looking and haven't come up with a thing. thanks again
