The Lackner Sign Company of Cincinnati, Ohio, was one of the largest producers of neon and light-up advertising signs and clocks during the 1930s-50s. Along with their large commercial clocks, Lackner also offered a line of tabletop "Neon-Glo" clocks for home use. Among the Neon-Glo clocks was the Art Deco style “Dulcy.” Its stepped ‘skyscraper’ case was available in alabaster (white), green, brown, orchid, or blue Catalin, and you could have a dial with either numbers or abstract hour markers. A circular neon tube inside gave the dial and translucent case a warm glow.

Alabaster was the most common Dulcy case color, and invariably the Catalin darkened to a rich butterscotch color over time, as this one has. Because of Catlin’s tendency to shrink, it’s difficult to find a Dulcy without stress lines or cracks. The clock measures roughly 6.5" wide by 6.75" high by 3" deep.

Thanks for the Loves, folks! Arisellon: unfortunately, this clock has a horizontal crack on one of the 'steps'. Also a couple of small chips that are hidden by the base trim. Otherwise it's in great shape and really gorgeous when it's lit up.
