The Waterbury Clock Company George Washington. I love this clock. Below the picture is the quote: "First in war, first in peace, first in the hearts of his countrymen."

I noticed how tall "Uncle George" was & ck'd it out. Surprised to find that he was 1.91 metres (6'3" for colonists). The exception to heroes being shorter than admirers mental image. Heard somewhere that he got seasick crossing the Delaware. LOL!

Yes. He also made sure that he got all of the prime land for himself and married well. Have to love him!

blunder, Right on! Glad you liked this. It belonged to a local jeweler and I had to convince him to sell it to me. It is good to see that others appreciate history as I do!
