    I picked this up at Goodwill the other day. it's pretty small for a compote - only 7 inches across by 4.5 inches tall. the design reminds me of an American regionalist painting of the 30s-40s. no marks that i can see. anyone recognize it? what was it used for? if it was for a cake, then it could only have held a cupcake.
