matt blue lacquered sheetsteel with a ball shaped nickel plated brass knob and a glass cartridge inside and feather or fountain pen rest integrated in the stand
this beauty was made by ruppelwerk gmbh germany, gotha, around 1930 and has been designed by marianne brandt (1893-1983) – who studied at the bauhaus and became head of the ruppelwerk design department in 1929. brandt is well known for her lamp designs for kandem
this inkwell is stamped below with ‘RUPPEL geschützt’ (protected)
