These are about 1" - not sterling, from the 60's and 70's, colorful fun enamel charms. It worked best putting them on different bracelets but no I did not segregate the states! My favorite is the South Dakota charm that is engraved on the back 7-4-72. Someone wanted to remember their summer trip and an important date to me.

My great uncle Bert told me way back when in the early 70's his life goal was to visit all 50 states - and not just passing through. He visited some during depression times jumping on and off trains. Was it true? Was it just family folk-lore? Anyway as a little kid he sparked his goal in me - and so far - I've vacationed at 32 states. Only 18 more to go.

After 2 years I have 50 states! I am showing you how I combined 2 of the bracelets - added a few links, joined them together with a toggle closure. They still look like 2 separate charm bracelets but are more secure joined. The top charm bracelet is the original one that started this a few years ago w/12 charms $21.00!

Etc: Solder rings to charm bracelets when you have a sterling collection. If you don't, use split rings that are sturdy. Be careful using open rings.

This is cool and different! Like something that would be a wonderful product after an american 'roadmovie' if you understand what I mean. Very nice :)

Looking for the last charm - Oregon. What a fun search of these charms for the past 2 years! Anyone have an Oregon I can trade for something else? XOXO

I would have thought these were sterling silver that has been enameled ??
