    I inherited these from my mother, who was a magpie collector. Can anyone help with what they are? No marks and difficult to polish up but they don't seem to have tarnished all that much. Thanks for any suggestions!

      Wow what a response thank you all so much especially to Peasejean for the photos which caused such stress... those are really lovely buttons aren't they? I followed up another lead too yesterday, and she said they were called Folk or Peasant buttons, and probably be dutch or hungarian. so that all ties in. who knew ??!!
