Calling all jewelry people! This one is kind of stumping me. The only mark I can make out is "K18" and there is another worn cartouche that is hard to make out. It is enameled and set with rubies. Was guessing Italian or Russian due to the cartouche shape and enamel but it doesn't look like anything I'm familiar with, and I'm probably wrong. Does this type of work look familiar to anyone?

What an attractive little gold brooch and rubies no less. I'd go with French although it does have a Russian look too. Great find Still ! :)

      Hi Stillwater,

Try pressing the cartouche into play dough or a mix of flour & water. PLEASE post bk if you are able to make any of it out. It's a stunning piece. Hope it helps!

Hi, I feel it Italian, but don't think they used the 18k mark...

The filigree and the enamel would have made me think perhaps Far Eastern? It's really a beautiful brooch. :)
