Hello, my friend bought this pair but would like to know when they were made. I'm guessing 1980's?

Does this style have a name? Any guesses on when they were made?

    Thanks!

The upholstery style is called Channel Back. It was popular in the Hollywood Regency era of the 1960s with silk fabrics. There are older chairs of this build that would need to be dated based on construction (such as webbing or cotton stuffing without springs). Whether the seat is removable foam or not is another clue. Vintage chairs with original, undamaged fabric run near $500 for resale. Interior designers of the '60s may have custom-ordered unsigned pieces from the Carolina furniture markets.
