This looks like something to be worn w/Freiheit's wonderful brooch.

I've had this a long time and never tried to clean it up so it's a bronzy brown. 1" wide w/pretty filigree settings: brilliants and garnet? stones. Engraved band with great quality clasp.

Why isn't this Victorian? It isn't tiny. My wrist is only 6.5" and this moves around comfortably. In the 1930's ladies wore gloves and many bracelets were made a little bigger to wear over gloves. Thank goodness for that!

I haven't done a metal test. Maybe Gudrun and I will do that together. :)

I hope what I want to say doesn’t come across the wrong way: I really love your bracelet. It shows so much detail. Sometimes I am amazed by costume jewelry, especially of this time, because of the design and work that went into the final piece. I think I love it even more than if it was the real thing because the” real thing” would be very expensive and I would be terrified if I would break or lose it. I am not sure if I make sense – it’s late in the afternoon and I need to go home - LOL

Oh - please, this is not as nice as your brooch - but it kinda matches! Have a great weekend!

      Regards, Mary

Hi Anne - Thank you for enjoying this bracelet and your comment. I'm a little behind, to be honest - I can only access CW on my computer. I'm trying to catch up on comments. Hope you are having a great summer!

      Hi Valentino97 (Mary) :),

martika (Marta) sent me the link to your lovely bracelet....If you are willing to share, I would love to hear any history you have on it (old history such as origin/age and recent history such as where you purchased/obtained it)....I am looking for the link style version of this bracelet - I think you may have seen my story on here - I am in love with this specific floral pattern....Thank you! Sincerely, Valarie

Hi Valarie: I think this bracelet is a Victorian revival item. Maybe 1930's? There are no marks. The garnets appear to be glued into the prongs, added later?...The rest of the bracelet is very pretty with all marcasites solidly in place. The back side (pic 3) shows a brown "brass" in some areas of the flower design. I haven't cleaned it - so tempting, but it really is nice the way it is.

I found it at a thrift store here in Southern California. I have another bracelet that is unmarked - very similar. I'll post it tomorrow when I can get a good photo taken outside.

Hi again - I am not sure how my message was duplicated - especially after you replied....sorry about that...not quite familiar with how to navigate this site (obviously! ha ha!).....and can't find how to delete the duplicate message...please disregard it... Thank you so much for your response! It is a lovely bracelet! Of the bangle styles with this pattern, I really love the one you have - it is different with the lovely garnets....great find! I am excited to see the other one you have!

Do you have any other pieces (dress clips, brooches, etc.) with this floral marcasite pattern? If so, I would love to see your collection. I have picked up a few more pieces, I should add their pics to my post.

I looked at it again and I still love it!!!

Hi Valarie: I deleted your duplicate post. It's happened to me too!

Thanks for loving my bracelet. It is probably just "white metal" based on a research book I have - maybe 1930-40's. I don't have any other floral marcasite jewelry. Please add your newest pieces - would love to see them.

Yes, I'll post the other bangle I have right now.

Dragonflypearl - it does look gothic!

Gudrun - your brooch is better quality though, but yes this is pretty nice.

Thanks CW friends for the loves.

Hi again, :) (do you prefer to go by Valentino97, Mary or Val or ? I have seen CW friends address you by each...please let me know. :) Thank you for deleting the duplicate post. lol. I have been told that the pieces I have with this pattern are likely from the 1930 timeframe too....some people tell me they are possibly Czech.

I found a guide called: Marcasite Jewellery History and Price Guide: Including Irish Iron Pyrites Jewellery and Czech Glass Marcasite Jewelry on Amazon UK

I tried to get a copy of this guide in the USA, but no luck. Fortunately, I have a friend in the UK and she ordered it for me and sent to me...Amazon UK would not ship 1 copy to me...anyway I am still reading through it (I quickly looked at all the photos in the guide and there are no pictures of the floral marcasite pattern that I love)....I have learned a bit about the marcasites (machine cut vs. hand). :) I believe the guide will still be quite useful despite not finding anything specific to the pattern I love. :)

I will post some more pics soon. I have a favor to ask you - would you mind keeping your eye out for the link style bracelet with this pattern (I posted a pic of the one my dad bought me - that I lost :'( and a pic of the one I bought on Etsy that was "lost" and my money was refunded....I know there is another out there and I am truly heartbroken that I lost the one that my dad bought me....I have come across pieces that are close (one was the exact style but was the rounded was lovely but I knew in my heart that even if I bought it that I would keep searching, as it was not "the one".....any help in much appreciated... <3 Sincerely, Valarie

Hi Valarie - I am happy to respond to Val or Mary! I will keep an eye out for link marcasite bracelets. I know how heartbreaking it is when you lose something important that was a gift from a loved one. I'm always looking online - sometimes buying - but mostly enjoy searching. Will keep looking for your style of marcasite bracelet. I think you will find it! Sincerely, Mary & Val....
