Can anyone identify what type of chair this is, it's small, almost too small for an adult to sit in, Thank you.

I've seen these chairs in rural Spain. Some call them birthing chairs.
Usually handmade and rustic, sometimes intricately carved. With or without leather seats padded with upholstery nails.

I can definitely confirm it's a birth chair. I have one as well and have worked in the birth field for 3 years. Mine doesn't have a pad like this one. They're relatively rare to find since they are not widely used in this form any more. You can see a reference to them in the bible at the very beginning of Exodus. Great find!

As ive posted on Show And Tell Your Chair Reminds Me A Lot of a Chair that i have though mine is Irish.
i think these chairs seem to have Various Versions Throughout the World made by local Craftsmen adapting them to thier own individual Designs.
Not sure About the Birthing Bit Especially in Mine I Think it Would Be A Bit Uncomfortable.

    Regards PM
