    I just came into this machine and am interested in its background. The cabinet has a serial number of A279884 and the machine has a serial number of AF213317. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

      Singer 15, serial number issued April 12, 1939. It appears to be a 15-91, with the "potted" motor that drives the machine directly with metal gears so it doesn't need a belt. Strong motor, will do any kind of household sewing.

      i have a machine and cabinet very similar to that. serial #AG343816 am interested in info about....is there certain areas on machine i could find dates and other info
