This lovely bowl belonged to my great grandmother. She lived in the North of England in the late 1800's – 1940's. It was coloured but my mother foolishly put it in the dishwasher in the 1980's. I want to get it restored but have no idea where to start. I remember the colours being burgundy, green and gold but even that I'm not 100% sure of as I was quite young before it was damaged. You can still see outlines of gold. I would really like to know its age and if anyone has seen anything similar that I could use as reference to help in its restoration.

    Measurements:
    130cm high
    180cm diameter

    Thank you for viewing it.

this is EAPG; United States Glass #15140 Athenia c1912, aka: Reverse 44. The pattern was originally made in crystal and also stained in different colors (found in green & gold or ruby & gold stain). The colors you describe seems like goofus glass, which is cold painted, but I don't find any examples of the pattern with goofus treatment.

Thank you so much TallCakes! Using the info you provided I have found a similar item on ebay that shows some colour. Could you tell me if this is goofus glass? I will use this as reference for restoration:

that one would be considered 'stained'; the color is painted on and refired to fix. Sometimes these stained colors are not too stable and therefore not dishwasher safe.
