These are kinda cool for the memories they bring back. A banana split was my favorite dessert back in the day followed by banana pudding, with key lime pie rounding out the top three. All three are still in the running today. These dishes or bowls go back to the 1940's I would assume. The glass is a really neat color or as my teenage boys would say, Wow dad! these dishes are "sick". (That means "cool" in present day translation.)

Are these a different color of vaseline glass?

Wow pickergirl10 I haven't a clue what vaseline glass is. I will say that the pics came out showing the exact color the way it looks up close and personal and I have seen objects with this same texture and color and probably even heard the name of the glass as well but I'm drawing a blank. It's a very soft peach color with almost a very fine "sandblasted look". The feel of the surface of the glass is the feeling of a very fine sandblasted surface. Not rough, but not smooth. But closer to smooth than rough if that makes any sense. This is one I could sure use some help on. Thanks for taking a peek and for taking the time to comment.

Vaseline glass is semi-opaque I guess you would say. It is not transparent by no means. If you hold it up and look at it, vaseline glass looks like hardened vaseline. The usual color is a light greenish yellow color just like vaseline. It is also sometimes called uranium glass which actually will glow under a black light. I'm just not sure if it actually comes in different colors like your color. When I looked at your set that was the first thing that came to mind. I'm certainly not a pro and could be wrong though. Do a google search and type in vaseline glass and see what you can find.

Thank you Dottie for your compliment/comment and thank you pickergirl10 for that education on the glass. Glass is something I have many pieces of but can only identify maybe 60%. But I'm learning. I will search out vaseline glass and see how much data I can absorb. Thanks again to the both of you.
