I just picked this doll up today. I know both about her and couldn't find anything about black porcelain dolls that resemble her. Her dress is filthy so it's off for washing. She has no markings. Normally, doll creep me out but I liked her. The owner of the booth didn't hesitate to sell her cheaply to me aa I didn't have enough cash to purchase her originally but he sold her for 15$.

Her head is a reproduction of a China doll called a Low brow . Most common china head produced they were made up till 1930's . Your head was made from a old mold from a doll making class or ceramic class . Homemade . And no they never made a Black Low Brow China . Yours was just painted that way by person in a class . Not Antique , you could buy kits to make bodies also and homemade body . If you like her 15 was ok but in retail market she would have very little value . So 15 was about full value .

The original Low Brow China's were from Germany but again yours is not original.

I like her and I think shes made me a doll collector when I use to dislike them! I have learned so much reading abut the dolls! Its amazing! My son is terrified of dolls but I guess its a good thing she will be in my room!
