Hi To All The good Folks on CW thought it was time to post something .
1940s Peggy McCall mannequin made by Dritz-Traum Company . She is 12 1/2 inches tall . Dressed in rare factory Patriotic flag dress '
Peggy always came boxed in a patriotic theme box with stars and stripes . During WWII these little mannequins were used to teach young girls to sew . I have had several but never one dressed by factory in this dress they were usually nude .
They came with McCall patterns which always included a nurse uniform . A Hint to become a Nurse ? They used small scraps of material to make clothes as material was hard to come by during WWII and also some sewing notions in box .
. I had one of these manequins that came with original insert saying " Help Your Country and learn to sew for War effort . Added the front of one of her boxes showing her draped in red, white and blue
I hope you enjoy her history .
