You can imagine my surprise when I saw this ring on ebay, I knew straight away who the maker was. I had to watched it for nine days, with in trepidation. The final few seconds I was shaking, I did pay more than I wanted to do, but eh, he's one of of my favourite makers.
As you can see it is a massive ring. The band and the shank is made of 9ct Gold as is the outer edge on which the silver design leaves and Amethyst are Set. I think it would probably have been made around the 1930s.
The Amethyst is oval and measures 13mm by 11 mm. The silver leaves are wonderful, I've looked through a lots of Bernards rings but not seen one like this.
When I first saw the ring and looked at the hallmarks 9ct & Silver, then to see the maker Mark B.I, I couldn't believe it, it can be very frustrating when you have jewellery that isn't marked.
Many thanks for looking
