This is a pretty unremarkable shape with a machine trailed design in amethyst. Having asked around, I think it could be a Welz shape, although that might be difficult to be certain about with a simple baluster.

It is 14.5cm high. The trails are in quite good condition.

Thanks to Craig for the shape comparison. Great info and very compelling, but difficult with a simple décor in a simple shape. I will précis the comments as Kralik, possible Welz, many companies making machine-trailed glass, a dearth of printed information about Welz (until recently that is!).

Here is a link to Welz machine threaded examples in the Skarske Museum in Novy Bor in the Czech Republic. The examples were dated in the case to ca. 1900. This image was taken in 2012.

Although I have identified other Welz threaded examples, they have not been with threading this fine. I am providing this image as an example of early machine threaded production by the company to simply demonstrate they had the ability to produce these kinds of wares using this technique.

I would add that in the above image of the shape group, the first 5 décors are all décors found on multiple shapes identified as Welz production.

The 6th example in that group is the only example of the décor I have seen, and although not used as a definitive mark for identification, it bears the acid stamp "Made In Czechoslovakia" that is commonly seen on identified Welz production. I believe it to be Welz, but have to state that it has not been seen or confirmed on another shape.
