    WWII .50 Cal. Cigarette Lighter Trench Art.
    This morning I was in my shop looking in some boxes of old tools and found this .50 cal. shell. I noticed the bullet turned, twisted it off and found it was a lighter.
    The head-stamp on the case is:
    M
    43

    M= Milwaukee Ordnance Plant (Operated by the U.S. Rubber Co. from 1942-43)

    43= 1943

    Thanks for looking,
    Dave

      These .50 cal lighters were a very popular WW2 souvenir item!

      Pw, you must have broken Danny's back. 115 mph last nite & now down to 90. Thanks!

      Probably fired from a browning. Mean weapon if you could tote it.
