I found this at a garage sale years ago. I thought it was some kind of stirrup but didn't pay to much attention to it. Since I've been on CollectorsWeekly I have been digging things out and doing a little research. After looking this over, on the bottom it's stamped B.M. Co. US. It's 6'' x 5.5". Wish I had one more to make the pair. It is a calvary stirrup according to the net.

This is a match for the sturrups on my US Army Model 1904 McClellen Sadle, except mine are corroded, but the same size and appearance.
