I would like to know something about this trunk
I received it as a gift and I would at least give him a date

The trunk appears to be a Moritz Madler( that could be his the label on the side) a well known high end malletier that made trunks
in Berlin ,Hamburg, Leipzig,Frankfort Germany . this trunk was popular from 1905 till the 30's or so. Here are a couple of Advertisments .

As for the the white ,red , white cross combinations very hard to say. My thoughts are 3 plausible : the colors of Poland , Vatican colors, or possibly the flag of
St.George ,(Sant Jordi) Barcelona spain. but these would be conjecture. Good luck thanks for the post.

has a Madler, I found that in 1915 the Belarus had the white flag red white, could be plausible?
