Very nice ! Which reminds me you didn't lose my nurses watch did you :-)
The two parts are almost the same size
First things first....No Mani, I have your stash in separate hole in the floor, lol.
Eye4, approx. same size, the retractable chain reel is a touch smaller, but very close.
Thank you:
aghcollect,

for stopping by, always very appreciated!!
Interesting for sure ...
Eye4, the Mickey's didn't seem to fair well, must been a select marketing idea, not many to be found and never seen an advertisement showing them in a nation wide publication
Is it a small pinback?
Eye4, the small is a pin-back retractable chain reel, all enclosed so chain doesn't show until it is extended
Ok, so if someone was wearing this and I was looking at them, i wouldn't see the watch properly ...
True, would look off to on lookers, but when person wearing it,would pull away from themselves and all would appear normal, these were design for the weare, not to passer by
Thanks Kerry for showing this.
I see, it is set up as a "sidewinder".
This example is not noted in George Townsend's Dollar Watch book among the character watches. The only one he shows with the retractable chain button is the nurse's watch that winds at the 12:00 position.
Very unique. Packaging and all!!!
Thanks,
Dave
Thank You:
Dave(pw-collector), that doesn't surprise me, I believe in my own mind(No proof to back it up) these were an sample marketed item, sent to select cities around the country to see if sales would meet a demand for mass production. By 1936-37 ,Mickey Mouse watches were starting to decline, I think Ingersoll/Disney were looking for something different to offer the public. Which did lead to the smaller rectangle pieces introduced in late 1937, of those 3 different wearable styles were introduced.
