Hello Fellow Collectors and Visitors. As some of you know I'm always looking for that something different in old watches and clocks. I have mainly character pieces, but snag on an advertisement watch from time to time.... Well here's one I hope you'll enjoy seeing.
The Saturday Evening Post was founded in 1821 and grew to become the most widely circulated weekly magazine in America. The magazine gained prominent status under the leadership of its longtime editor George Horace Lorimer (1899–1937) and is still in publication today.
This watch is an advertisement piece from approx. 1906 and produced by Ingersoll with a 1 jewel "Dollar" style movement. It has it's place among several other "Dollar" Advertisement watches here at the Horde.
    Thanks for looking
    Kerry

I like the advertising ones also. I have an Ingersoll advertising, The Evening Telegram Portland, Oregon and the Rexall drug stores. A New Haven advertising The Emporium of San Francisco, the ones I recall off-hand.

Eye4, first off, repetitive thinking alone makes it worse....lol Thanks, but watch out, these babies aren't so easy to locate.... for some reason they didn't survive the years.
      Thanks Sean, ole buddy :-)

      Oh. ... Sounds like a challenge ...
    9. kerry10456 kerry10456, 9 years ago
LOL, Eye4, just fair warning sir, they become very addictive, looking for the history behind them is as much of the challenge as finding the watch itself :-)

It kind of makes me jealous since I love both pocket watches (mine is sadly non-functional again) and Saturday Evening Post prints. LOL.
      Thanks for posting it.
