Some time ago I saw mikelv85’s post http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/165464-chinese-rosewood-brass-and-jade-jewelr and I realized that I have a similar box. Mine doesn’t have the music box but otherwise looks similar to his. I don't know anything about it.

I've got one the same as yours. About 10 years ago i think i did some research on it and found out it was made somewhere around 1940's, but i'm not 100% sure on that.
Thanks so much for your comment, tigerchips! I am not sure about the age of my box either. I think that the style is vintage, but Chinese make copies of everything now:)
this kind of things were made since early 20's through 70's, can't tell the age. I have one almost the same with label to the bottom saying "Shanghai, China"
Thanks for your comment, shrine. My box is in almost perfect condition, close to pristine. For that reason I believe that it is not too old.
